This initiative applies a peer-to-peer approach, which allows for the exchange of expertise, ideas, and support between EU Member States parliaments and partner parliaments on how gender equality can be embedded in all areas of parliamentary work. In 2021 the project provided: free online courses, gender-sensitive scrutiny guides for more effective law-making and oversight, data collection and research, and gender scrutiny quick country guides. The project has 4 partners and 85 participants.

This initiative aims at raising awareness of gender imbalances in Czech politics, by conducting analytical activities (analysis of elections and of barriers to women's political participation) and conducting advocacy campaigns on the importance of women's leadership and political participation.

This initiative aims to address gender-based violence against women in political and public life, by directly supporting women in political and public life through seminars and workshops, and raising awareness among the general public on the phenomenon.
Gender equality and women's empowerment and representation in public administration
This initiative aims to improve the inclusion of women in public and democratic life in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Project activities include: i) organizing civic education campaigns and training facilitators in schools on girls' and women's rights, human rights, civic participation, democratic principles, the electoral process and peace; (ii) strengthening and operationalizing literacy centers; (iii) strengthening the exercise of women's and marginalized citizens' right to vote; and (iv) supporting groups (including women's groups) to observe the 2023 elections. The project aims to reach 20 million voters, representing half of the voting-age population in DRC (of whom 10.12 million are women). It aims to reach between 1.5 and 2 million young girls and boys through civic and electoral education campaigns. The project is also designed to train 3,000 election observers (of whom 2,200 are women), and provide literacy and political rights training to approximately 20,000 women.

This initiative aims to support women and girls in four regions of Georgia (Kakheti, Guria, Racha and Imereti) to participate equally in economy and politics and change patriarchal mindsets and stereotypes. Feminist activists, including young people, will be trained and funded to implement local actions that contribute to increased women’s political and economic participation. The action will result in tangible changes improving the lives of local women and men, girls and boys.

Stichting Women Engage For A Common Future - International
The initiative aims at enhancing gender equality as a cross-cutting issue in all fields of EU-Georgia cooperation, and facilitating greater women's political participation in Georgia. The first component focuses on mainstreaming gender dimensions in EU cooperation programmes through analytical and mentoring support. The second component focuses on increasing women's political participation through different activities, including capacity-building, awareness raising, visibility and communication events, and knowledge exchange.

This initiative aims at engaging more women in Georgia’s political and public life by: (i) increasing the political literacy and skills of 1,150 locally active women, their organizations and public servants; (ii) sensitizing 60 journalists, and 150 data producers and users on gender-related reporting; (iii) contributing to the development and adoption of gender responsive laws and policies, benefitting some 38,350 public servants. The project will engage with men to foster behavioural change.

This initiative aims to advance gender equality in politics and governance in Africa, in line with the Maputo Protocol of 2003, various associated sub-regional protocols and standards, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project includes working with key institutions of democratic governance such as political parties, parliaments, and the media to build constituencies, alliances, norms, templates, and targets for reform and change towards greater women's political participation in Africa.

International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA)
This initiative aims to increase the political empowerment of women in selected countries in support of poor and marginalized groups. Project activities include: (i) providing support to parliaments to enhance their ability to address women’s rights and become more gender-sensitive; (ii) facilitating women's access to parliaments by reinforcing their skills and technical capacities; and (iii) supporting the compilation of research and data on women in politics. Beneficiaries are members of the parliament and staff, with a specific focus on women parliamentarians.

This initiative aims to increase women’s participation, election, and appointment in the 2023 electoral cycle and in subsequent years, specifically for young women in Nigeria. The project seeks to achieve this by improving gender responsive laws and policies, supporting women to engage directly in politics and enhancing coordination among key stakeholders. Project activities include: (i) working with key stakeholders, including legislators and political parties to promote gender responsive reforms such as gender quotas in national and state level legislatures; (ii) building the capacity, leadership skills and networks of women candidates running for political office in 2023; and (iii) engaging men champions, traditional leaders and communities to contribute to a more supportive environment for women’s political representation, including by preventing and responding to violence against women in politics. The project aims to directly benefit 235,000 people (of whom 200,750 are women) and indirectly benefit 5 million people (of whom 3.9 million are women) across Nigeria.

This initiative aims to advance inclusiveness in governance in target countries, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia. The political, cultural and historical conditions of countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region have caused women to remain underrepresented within political, civil society and academic spheres. Project activities include: (i) developing and delivering training sessions for women to enhance their leadership skills; (ii) organizing and delivering outreach events on women’s leadership for university and high school students; (iii) developing and producing publicly available material on inclusive governance practices and contemporary women's leadership in the MENA region; and (iv) establishing women’s leadership programmes with select universities. The project expects to benefit up to 12,000 direct beneficiaries and approximately 48,000 indirect beneficiaries.
